15-Minute Mobile Preventative Screenings July 20th

Saving Lives Through Early Detection

Our Heart and Vascular Institute is pleased to offer a cutting-edge AngioScreen program screening event open to the public on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Southwest General Hospital. This revolutionary vascular screening technology provides immediate information about vascular health including circulation, risk of heart disease, stroke and abdominal aorta aneurysm.

No needles. No pain. No X-rays.

A non-invasive preventative screening can be completed in less than 15 minutes. $50.00 per participant includes the following:

  • Stroke Screening: An ultrasound of the left and right carotid arteries for blockage leading to stroke. The Peak Systolic Velocity (PSV) can determine the percentage of a carotid artery blockage.
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: An abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA) scan since most aortic aneurysms have no symptoms until it is too late.
  • Peripheral Arterial Disease: Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) study to determine blockage in the legs.
  • Atrial Fibrillation: A simple EKG, which tests for atrial fibrillation.
    Height, Weight and BMI

AngioScreen measurements provide an assessment of risk that can be enhanced by consultation with your personal physician who may recommend other measure of vascular risk and health. NOTE: Screening tests do NOT replace regular examinations and consultation with your personal physician.

Southwest General Hospital’s AngioScreen mobile coach service is available for booking at church, business, and community group events in the San Antonio region.
