GIVING THANKS BY GIVING BACK TO SOUTHSIDE FAMILIES
Texas Vista Medical Center partnered with Latched Support, a local nonprofit focused on promoting an educated and healthy family experience from pregnancy and beyond, to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to 75 families in need on the Southside of San Antonio.
The Turkey Dinner Bag distribution took place on November 11 at the Texas Vista Medical Center Women’s Resource Center located at 2317 SW Military Drive.
"Latched partnered with Texas Vista Medical Center to support Southside families,” said Veronica Haywood, RN, MSN, IBCLC, WHNP, Co-founder and Executive Director, Latched Support. “Every family should have the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with a turkey and all of the fixings."
“Our commitment is to be a true resource for our community and that means helping meet more than just the healthcare needs of families on the Southside,” said Jon Turton, President, Texas Vista Medical Center. “Our physicians and team members came together and donated over $2,700 to ensure that at least 75 families in need can have a complete Thanksgiving meal this holiday season.”
The Turkey Dinner bag included corn, green beans, gravy, mash potatoes, cranberries, and stuffing. Texas Vista Medical Center provided $20 H-E-B gift cards so families could purchase their turkey. I'm not sure if they have met that goal. This is the second year Latched has provided Thanksgiving dinner.
