Volunteering at Texas Vista Medical Center
Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. Texas Vista Medical Center invites you to share your time and talent with our visitors, patients, and staff. Volunteers are found in every area of the hospital—from administrative offices to patient care areas.
Please note that all volunteers must commit to 100 hours or more a year in order to be eligible for the program. Here are some examples of volunteer opportunities at Texas Vista Medical Center:
Administrative Support: Weekdays during hours of your choice between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Use your general office and computer skills to assist various departments throughout the hospital.
Emergency Room: Daily from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Greet visitors and patients, provide magazines, children’s books, blankets, coffee, and water to patients and visitors, operate the TV remote, escort visitors to the Emergency Room.
Main Lobby Information Desk: Daily from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Greet, assist, and escort visitors, deliver flowers and mail to patient rooms.
Outpatient Waiting Room: Weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Greet patients arriving for outpatient procedures and ask them to sign in at the Outpatient Admitting desk.
Special Events: Scheduled throughout the year, special events include health fairs and community education events.
